ChipBoard Products – Which Type Should You Buy?

It is amazing how many different products incorporate chipboard. This material, made from 100% recycled coated and uncoated paperboard is converted in more products than we can ever imagine. Chipboard can be found in items like photo albums, scrapbooking supplies, packaging products, POP displays, puzzles and game boards. The list keeps going on.

When you want to buy chipboard for your manufacturing business, research your options. There is quite a bit of difference between the various types. Here are some examples of chipboard varieties.

• Plain chipboard – This non-flexible, multipurpose material is perfect for partitions, packaging supplies, pad backs, and a number of other industrial uses.

• Bending chipboard – Select this product when you need paperboard that can withstand a 180 degree fold without separating or cracking. You can expect shade, strength and printability.

• Pasted or laminated chipboard – This is the product you need when you want to buy chipboard of a specific thickness.

• StaSquare – Order this material when you require density and stability because you want to manufacture, e.g. game boards, hard cover books, puzzles, and point-of-purchase display units.

• Graphic board – For smoothness, yet superior quality, buy chipboard that can be used for graphic displays.

• Mounting chipboard – It can also be used for displays and advertising products because the surface can be laminated.

When you want to buy chipboard, be familiar with the types and their characteristics. How flexible and strong do you want the material to be? What colors do you prefer? What dimensions do you prefer? If you are uncertain about which paperboard product to purchase, simply ask the manufacturers. It is their business to know what their chipboard products can be used for.
