Contractor Internet Marketing

The internet is becoming almost a necessity for any business.  People access it at home, work, school and on their phones.  Contractors that focus on providing timely information and knowledgeable advice will be the ones that usually gets the business when it comes time for the customer to buy.

How can contractors benefit from internet marketing and help the average home remodeler, or electrician, or anyone else associated with housing?  The answers might be surprising.

Current statistics show that the most home owners have some type of access to the internet.  Of that group, over 80% of people use the internet to search for local businesses for many kind of their needs.  When people need to get new tires, they look online for the nearest shop.  If someone needs school supplies, an internet search will show the local stores that carry all the latest gadgets.  And when people need a plumber, electrician, or a roofer, guess what?  They look online for those services as well.

Contractors need a website but they need to be specific with the way the site is designed and marketed.  The website should contain appropriate links, descriptions, and keywords that will enable people to find the site anytime they conduct a “local” search.   A local search could be something like “plumber Phoenix, Arizona.”  This would bring back results of plumbers that work in the Phoenix area rather than all plumbers everywhere.

Focusing on local internet marketing and making the website easy to find and a pleasure to use will produce more leads and increased business.
