Quit Smoking – Did You Know This?

Are you a smoker looking for some good reasons to quit smoking? Well we have a great one for you today! Second Hand Smoke! Now wait a minute… Before you go rolling your eyes thinking “I’ve heard this before” I want you to hear me out. See, you’re not the only one paying the price of smoking. Those who spend even a small bit of time around you are paying the price as well… With their health!

No this is not some “scare tactic” article. This information comes from the U.S. Surgeon Generals Report. That’s about as credible as it gets. Ready to see this?

Fact #1 – The dangerous particles in secondhand smoke can linger in the air for hours. Breathing them even for a short time – as little as 20 or 30 minutes – can harm you in a variety of ways. And breathing in secondhand smoke over years can be all the more dangerous.

FACT #2 – Second hand smoke acts far quicker on children than adults. The harmful toxins found in second hand smoke have many negative health implications for children. Everything from harming their growth and development to causing depression, infections and even emotional problems has been traced back to second hand smoke. Contrary to common belief, many of these problems are not exclusive to children of heavy smokers. Even a small amount of contact with cigarette smoke on a regular basis can cause problems.

To further illustrate why this is happening, one only need take a quick glance at some of the chemicals found in cigarette smoke:

* Formaldehyde

* Arsenic

* Cadmium

* Benzene

* Polonium

Did you see what I just did? Rat poison, embalming fluid… We don’t even need to look at the rest of the list, as just those 2 chemicals by themselves are bad enough. Who wants children breathing in this stuff? Further research will show that there are more than 4,000 chemicals found in cigarette smoke, along with dozens of Class A carcinogens.
