Although, it is unfair, to blame, this President, for the present pandemic, especially, the onset of the virus, many believe, his lack of effective planning, and being prepared, has contributed, to the horrific human impacts, in terms of infection, and deaths! As if, that is not bad – enough, it seems, there still is no clear – cut, public health – oriented, nation plan, in place! Rather, we are witnessing, a patchwork of ways, individual states, and regions, are reacting, and proceeding. While, New York, was the initial, United States’ epicenter, of this virus, for several factors/ reasons, including the influx of infected Europeans, entering, before the Federal government, finally, cut – off flights, from those regions, as well as the population density, in this region, Governor Andrew Cuomo, proactively, took action, and made several hard decisions, so that, today, this state, is handling this horrific virus, far better than, most of the rest of the nation! Because of this, New York’s numbers are going, in the right direction, while, many states, are spiking, in terms of number of new cases, and hospitalizations. If, instead of denying the level of danger, Trump, took decisive action, on a national basis, most experts believe, we would be faring, much better, today! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, 5 concerning behaviors, regarding still, not having any national plan.

1. Early warnings: Despite the President’s denials, and statements, the evidence indicates, there were several early warnings, which Trump, either, denied, or minimized, or ignored! Public health experts state, if we reacted, immediately, the number of infections, and deaths, would have been, significantly reduced!

2. Hoax: By following, his usual approach, of calling, this pandemic, a hoax, etc, his core supporters, to this date, continue to seem, to minimize the danger, and, thus, don’t cooperate, with public health suggestions, such as wearing a mask, Social Distancing, and assuming their social responsibility!

3. Setting a poor example, regarding masks, distancing, and reopening properly: When the President refuses to wear a mask, what kind of example, does that set? How can we expect, his strongest followers, to act accordingly, stay – at – home, use Social Distancing, and proceed, wisely, when they are provided, with another, apparent, narrative?

4. Pressuring Governors: It has been apparent, this President has attempted to apply pressure on the Governors, to reopen their state’s economies, according to his personal/ political agenda, and perceived, self – interest, rather than, doing so, carefully, and in phases, as nearly all public health experts, advice, and recommend! We’ve noticed, the state’s, which have opened prematurely, now, have spiking infection rates, while, those, following the phased – in, approach, showing significant reductions!

5. Still minimizing impacts: Demanding, a no – mask, no Social Distancing, approach, for the Republican National Convention, and his campaign rallies, indicates, Trump is still minimizing the impacts, and dangers, of this pandemic!

Wake up, America, and, ask, why is there still, no national, pandemic policy, and/ or, plan? Hold Trump Accountable, for his lack of meaningful action, and/ or, responsibility!
